Becky's Referral Day (November 17, 2003)

Your daddy had to leave around 10am for a business trip,
so Mommy's friend Julia came over to wait for your referral call.
She also gave you some presents, like this heart puzzle:

Around 12:20, the phone rings and it is Harrah Family Services!  Your referral is here!!!!!!!!!!

Teresa said your name is Fu Hui Qu, and you have big brown eyes!

When you were 5 months old, you weighed about 13lbs and were 24.5" tall!

Mommy is so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your pictures are here!  Mommy printed them off the computer right away while still making phone calls to tell everyone about you!

He said he can tell how adorable you are even on the tiny cell phone screen!

It has been storming outside, so after the storm Mommy rushes out to fax
the acceptance letter to HFS, and to show her friend Gina the pictures too!
Gina is very excited.  Andrew and Dominic can't wait to play with you too.
Mommy played ring around the roses with Andrew and Dominic until she was wiped out and ready for bed.

Tuesday morning the FedEx man delivers the package with all your information in it!

Daddy's friend George translates the information in the package for us,
and here are some of the wonderful things your Aunties wrote about you on July 10th, when you were 5 months old:

"She started to smile at 2-month old.  She would play with her hands and look prolong into our staffs’ face when she was 4-month old.  As of present (July 10, 2003), she is 62 cm (24.4 inches) in height, chest size of 39 cm (15.35 inches), head size of 39 cm (15.35 inches), and weighted 6.0 kg (13.2 lbs).  She can now sit up, learn to speak, hold toys, and play her hands.  She would gibberish non-stop if seeing other people.  If you tease her, she would just laugh heartily.  She likes music and would pay special attention to adults’ conversation.  When somebody calling her name from distance, she would search for the voice source.  She loves toys that make sounds.  She cries and laugh as an adorable child.
Fu, Hui-Qu likes routine a life.  Normally, she gets up at 7:00AM and has naps from 11:30AM to 1:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM.  Her bedtime is about 10:30PM.  She was fed 5 to 6 times a day with 140 ml (4.73 ounces) of milk each time.  The first meal is at about 6:00AM and it is about 3 to 4 hours between meals.  She has bowl movements about 2 to 3 times ago and has wet diapers about 7 to 8 times a day.
Fu, Hui-Qu has tender, smooth skin, beautiful eyes, and cute lips.  She likes to laugh and is seldom fussy.  She’s a healthy, lovely child.  She’s been given necessary vaccinations and her physical and mental growth is very normal."

On Wednesday Mommy has the package ready to send to you.  The red dress has your name embroidered on it.

Wednesday night Daddy came home from his business trip and we celebrated your referral.

We looked closely at your photos together, and he said, "our sweet baby".  We can't wait to bring you home!
