These diaper cover/pants are made with organic wool jersey fabric (brought back by customer request).  The pants are slightly less soft at first than the organic merino wool pants but these pants become very very soft with repeat machine washing (I wear a pair to sleep in myself and they don't feel itchy at all to me), and you can even wash these on any temperature setting with your regular laundry and detergent (no bleach though).  The pants are the same two-layer design as the merino wool pants.  If you have trouble deciding which pants to order, you could even order both types and then return one pair for a refund after seeing the fabrics.

Most of the pants that I have are one layer and, of course, these are 2 layers which is added absorbency. And, let me tell you, these pants passed the flood test. Even though most customers love this organic wool jersey for it's perfect combination of durability and softness, it is not the super-super-soft merino wool like the soakers and longies I sell.   This fabric does become very soft though after several washes.  I've been using the pants now for my daughter for several months, and these are almost as soft as the merino pants after washing them so much (I machine wash without using a delicate cycle - any temperature is fine).  I am completely comfortable with my daughter wearing these pants all the time (even before they become super-soft with washing), because I made a full-size pair for myself and love how they feel.  As my daughter gets older, I find I really appreciate wool that is durable and machine-washable for active toddlers.
